James E. Vasatka

As Director of Aviation Security, Jim is responsible for developing the objectives, long-range goals, strategies and tactics for BCA's initiatives to assure secure and efficient operations for commercial aviation. Mr. Vasatka works closely with US Government agencies, airlines, and airports to identify and implement improvements to the aviation security system.

Jim, was named to his current role 2015, had been the Chief Engineer of Aviation Security.

Jim came to Boeing in 1980 after graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He began his career in Aerodynamics Engineering, working on product development for the 747. He gained extensive design, test, validation, and certification experience during the development of the 747-400 and 777. During his career at Boeing, his assignments have included managing the Boeing's Designated Engineering Representative Systems, and leading a variety of government and industry technical initiatives.
