APH Journey to Building an Accessible Website

Alejandro Erick Franco is an Electrical and Computer systems Engineer who has a talent for transforming strategy into impactful solutions that propel business growth. He specializes in ERP systems integration, digital transformation and building cross functional IT teams.

Mr. Franco is the CIO for the American Printing House for the Blind. He has worked for Fortune 500 companies and has experience in International markets. He has Implemented SAP Systems in Mexico and in the US and has leveraged his engineering degree and manufacturing experience in order to bridge the gap between IT and business.

Alejandro will share APH's journey building an accessible website and e-commerce store for its customers who are blind, visually impaired, or have other disabilities. He will describe the challenges of developing a site that is aesthetically pleasing, modern, and functional while complying with Federal accessibility legislation. Adherence to new standards provides protection from civil lawsuits while giving every customer a welcoming and efficient user experience.
